You want success

But

you are programmed for failure!

Am I trying to tell you that there is no hope for you to become successful? No, not if you understand what I am about to explain to you.

To illustrate this situation, I want to take you back with me to my birth. It was in July of 1937.  The country was just starting to come out of the Great Depression.

At that time, 96% of the population was self employed, mostly on the farm. It was a good family life, but it was also a lot of hard work. We learned teamwork from the time we were born. We learned how to think for ourselves within the teamwork.

But then there was a saying going throughout the whole county; (go to school, get a good education, and get a good job.)

Then the Second World War came along and there was a need for a lot of our women to go to work. And the push for getting a good education so you could get a good job was pushed even harder.

So then everyone was going clear through K through 12. And guess what, we are all taught the very same thing, Every one must think the very same way. And that was is to be the most productive for the company or the boss who writes your paycheck. (Who is going to pay you the least amount they have to pay to get the number of employees they need or want.)

Case in point is that if you can not or will not learn, think and produce in the narrow thinking you are being taught, we medicate you so that you do not disturb the class.                                    Albert Einstein during a lecture in Vienna in ...

I will give you two examples of what can happen when you move out of the box. Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison both could not function well in the classroom and midway through grade school, they where home schooled by their mothers. They developed projects which have benefited many people in the whole world.
Thomas edison glühbirne                                         Image via WikipediaThere are many very successful individuals beside these two. There are many young individuals in our schools who are not challenged today.

To succeed, we need to develop a positive attitude such as Edison had when he was asked
by a reporter how he felt after 64 failures before he finally found the way to make a better Light bulb filament. His answer was, “I was successful 64 times in finding the things that would not work. This was just part of the procedure.”

To Be Successful

Above all get Wisdom.

What is Wisdom?  Dictionary’s give many different examples. I am stepping out of the boat here and give you my observations.

Our human brain works like a computer or should I say, the computer was built and programmed to work like our brains.

A new born baby and a new computer are very much alike. They are preprogrammed with the automatic functions of startup:

Baby                                                 Computer

    Breathing                                           Open Screen
    Heart Beat                                         Open Keyboard
    Sleeping                                             Open Processor
    Waking                                               Open Hard Drive
    Sucking                                               Recording Data

Now, let’s watch them both develop.

Observe
A young child who has just learned to walk will use their arms and hands to balance against something. Many times, if there is a hot stove or other items, Mom or Dad will say, “don’t touch that, Hot”. Child will say “Hot,Hot,Hot”

The child is recording in memory (brain – hard dive) this data. At this point anything hot is bad. Now the child learns that some food is tastier if it is hot. This data is downloaded into the brain – hard drive.

As time goes by, more different data is loaded into the brain or hard drive. Experience shows that some hot is good and some is not. This experience is programming the processor in the brain and computer.
This is wisdom.

The processor becomes more and more efficient in decision making because there is more experience about the data in the memory. Wisdom is the ability to make better decisions for the subject of the moment. Decisions of what will work or not work.

To become successful, we need to have an understanding like this old saying.

(If I was on an airplane and it crashed in the middle of the Desert, I would find one who had already been in the desert and follow them out.)

Success comes with
  • a dream!
  • a goal to work towards!
  • not failure, added experience
  • positive attitude!
  • training from someone with experience
  • change our way of thinking

Living in Faith

Snow in nearby Santa Catalina Mountains

I published this on Tuesday May 10th. A strong vision came to my mind. Read through this if you desire and then click on the more button at the bottom.

I heard this Joke over the weekend and it struck me as funny but also a tribute to mother's.

===============================================

My grandmother, who lived in Tucson, was well known for her

faith and her lack of reticence in talking about it. She would go out on the front porch and yell, "Praise the Lord!"

Her next-door neighbor would shout back, "There ain't no God!" During those days, my grandmother was very poor, so the neighbor decided to prove his point by buying a large bag of groceries and placing it at her door.

The next morning, Grandmother went to the porch and, seeing the groceries, said, "Praise the Lord!"

The neighbor then stepped out from behind a tree and said, "I bought those groceries, and there ain't no God."

Grandmother replied, "Lord, you not only sent me food but you made the devil pay for it."

The Keys

c. 1632Image via Wikipedia

What you have sometimes depends
on who you know!
Hi!

I remember there was a strange feeling in me as I walked along the corridors of a Midwest Prison.

There was a different feeling in my life and in the lives of those countless inmates that I walked past, and it wasn't in our different types of clothing.

The differences rested in one great truth. You see, I was walking with the man that had the keys.

You know Jesus Christ said, "Do not be afraid, I am the living one. I was dead but behold I am alive for ever and ever and I have been given All authority (Keys) in heaven and on earth."

I am so glad for all the valleys which has built my faith. Without those valleys, how would I know that he would and could do what he said?

Jesus is the Victory.

Happy Easter to all. Harley

Pumping Iron

Blacksmith Shop Behind Custom House, Saint Joh...Image via Wikipedia  My grandfather was sent by his parents from Denmark at the age of 14 to live with his Aunt and Uncle here in the USA.

My grandfather worked in a blacksmith shop, and he used to tell me how he had strengthen himself so he could stand the rigors of blacksmiths.

He said he would stand outside the house and with a five-pound potato sack in each hand, extend his arms straight out to his sides. He would hold them there as long as he could. He did this religiously for three weeks.

After a while he tried ten pound potato sacks , then fifty-pound potato sacks, and finally he got to where he could lift a one-hundred pound potato sack in each hand and hold his arms straight out for a full minute!

He never missed a day and performed this exercise in the coldest and hottest weather. He was determined to be the best blacksmith in the country.

Anatomy of a Laugh

Main complications of persistent high blood pr...Image via Wikipedia

Last week I wrote you a little Joke. If you enjoyed it, here is what it could have done for you according to research.

  • Your heart and lungs are stimulated.
  • Your heart beats faster and your blood pressure rises temporarily.
  • You breath deeper and oxygenate fore blood.
  • Your body releases endorphins, your own natural pain killers, and you produce more immune cells.
  • You burn seventy-eight times as many calories as you would in a resting state.
  • Your diaphragm, facial muscles and internal organs all get bounced around in a message sometimes called "internal jogging."
After you've laughed, your  muscles and arteries relax. That's great for easing pain. Also, your blood pressure lowers and your pulse drops below normal. Some researchers think all this aids digestion.

   Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine; but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Snow Emergency - Where can I park?

Oak Grove St., Minneapolis, MinnesotaImage via WikipediaI have been guilty of something like this, but I can plead my age?

Frank and his wife were listing to the radio when they heard the weather report: "A snow emergency has been announced. You must park your cars on the odd-numbered side of the street." So Frank got up and moved his car.

Two days later--same thing. "A snow emergency is issued came on the radio." Radio announcer said "Park your cars on the even-numbered side of the street." So Frank went out and parked his car on the even-numbered side of the street.

Three days later: "There will be a foot of snow today. Park your cars on the...., and the radio went dead.

"I don't know what to do and I don't want to get a ticket"

His wife said, "Why don't you leave the car in the garage?"

Young Squirrel learning from the old.

When I was a teenager, I could not see how my dad got where he was when he was so dumb.

I started to see Dad's wisdom when I arrived into my mid 20's.

I am now 73 and still learning dad's wisdom even though he went to
be with the Lord 15 years ago. Thank you Dad!

Will she remember Great Grand Paw?

Zoey is not quite 6 months old. She was the best student I have ever had. She sat very still,
with deep concentration on my hands and the sound. She concentrated like this for more
than three minutes before she started playing the piano.

Thank you Zoey! We hope to see you again, sooner the better. Tell you Dad and Mom. OK
